Wilderness Response Team
A cooperative effort between the Keene Valley Fire Department and Keene Fire Department, and working closely with the New York State Forest Rangers and other state agencies, the Wilderness Response Team executes search, rescue and recovery missions in and around the High Peaks Region of the Adirondack Park.
Unpredictable weather, rugged terrain and inexperience can often lead to back country emergencies. The WRT prepares and trains year-round to handle these emergencies, annually conducting or assisting in over a dozen missions.
